McDo

With much less fanfare than previously, McDonald's made another restaurant in Pakistan. McDo has opened another branch in the F-9 Park of Islamabad.

A group of friends had traveled to Rawalpindi where a branch opened a few months ago. Now, many drivers that were making frequent trips to pick-up Happy Meals and McArabia Kofta (and many other) Value Meals in Islamabad have a much shorter distance to go.

The new Islamabad branch has the traditional corrugated roof as well as series of chili lights (i.e. the celebratory lighting of choice in Islamabad) and a few spotlights. Together these sights welcome cars and pedestrians that filled this restaurant on Sunday night as I walked around town. Inside, there is also a welcoming playground for kids - though I will say that Islamabad has a number of outdoor parks if parents allow their kids to use them.

Yes, the West is coming to Islamabad to take up roots in this growing community and capital of Islamabad.
