It's Google Earth. Fly around the world, and zoom in closer than any atlas you've seen.

I can't describe this tool, so just download it - and try it for yourself.

I've been mapping and marking places I've traveled. I've also been able to overlay detailed maps on top of the images of the physical terrain delivered by this program. The on-line streaming gives me the highest resolution available (from 1 meter to 1km).
