TeamWorks - Reece Center

Team Caffeine (Hands on Atlanta TeamWorks) has been running close to every Saturday for the past two months. I ran my first project last weekend at the Reece Center for Handicapped Horsemanship.

While we worried that we'd be shoveling manure for four hours, instead we stained the wood tables and benches for guests to the center. The Center asked us to engineer a canal system to prevent flooding by the horse field, but, lacking an engineer and a Bobcat, we instead cleared the rubbish from the barn. These efforts help a small organization in Palmetto, GA where families bring guests with varying disabilities and ages to ride the horses.

The volunteer coordinator had this to say about our volunteers:

We can't thank you enough for the hard work your fantastic Hands on Atlanta Team did for the Reece Center! You guys just kept going, and going, and going...I was beginning to feel like such a slacker. (I'm sure you didn't miss the old guys sitting on their chairs in the sun.) We truly would love to have you back anytime; be it working on the grounds, or with the horses and riders. We are truly touched by the sacrifice of your free time to help others.
